Don't Sweat It

Ask me anything   Submit   I am a college student with hyperhidrosis, and I'd like to give a clammy hello to anyone who stumbles onto this page! This blog is dedicated to the H-word, AKA hyperhidrosis, also AKA excessive sweating. Tumblr has many different communities, so I thought, there should be one for the sweaters out there, myself included. Here, feel free to ask questions or submit your own observations/stories/remedies/tips/tricks, ETC. Obviously, anything is welcomed and I hope that this blog can be a source of comfort and interest to those who suffer from this debilitating condition. Don't you just hate that word? This disorder should never control our lives, although that's easier said than done. It does lead however to awkward encounters with wet hands, soaked foreheads, dripping toes... you get the picture. Let's all help each other, virtually but tangibly, conquer this piece of shit!

Today I saw that it was almost seventy degrees out. Immediately my mind sprang to how I could prepare for the day ahead of me. For some of us, springtime means the start of our bad time of year. The weather starts getting warmer and we start frantically trying to keep dry. Whether you are trying to avoid sweat stains on your clothes or just keep a grip on things, warmer weather is just asking for trouble.

Anyone’s who has had to deal with HH for any period of time knows that there is definitely some preparedness and precautions necessary when the dry days start getting fewer in number, but how do you deal with the warm weather? Layers to avoid embarrassment- I know I tend to do that, even if I end up having what feels like a whole new ecosystem underneath -or as few as possible to keep cool? And does anyone else feel a strong urge to try to find some new way to stay dry once the bad days start up?
